Processors that colour and move sound instead of just polishing it.

Saturation

Harmonic saturation

Add weight and harmonics without mud.

Saturation rounds off the peaks of a sound as it is driven harder. That adds harmonics, which can make a sound feel fuller, warmer or more present.

  • Helping bass come through on small speakers
  • Adding weight to thin sounds
  • Gluing a group of tracks together

Delay

Tempo-synced delay

Echoes that lock to the tempo of your session.

A delay stores audio and plays it back later. It can be a single slap, a rhythmic part of the track, or a sense of width and space.

  • Rhythmic echoes that follow the tempo
  • Adding space without a reverb wash
  • Thickening a vocal or guitar

Reverb

Algorithmic reverb

From small rooms to long washes.

Reverb recreates the many reflections a sound makes in a space. It places a sound somewhere, from a small room to something far larger than any real one.

  • Putting dry recordings in the same space
  • Pushing a sound further back in the mix
  • Long, atmospheric tails

Dynamics

Compressor and expander

Shape the attack, release and level of a sound.

Dynamics tools control the difference between the loud and quiet parts of a sound. Compressors reduce that difference, and expanders increase it.

  • Keeping a vocal at a steady level
  • Adding punch to drums
  • Lowering noise between phrases
